Summary

The WMS Specialist supports the Quality Manager with recommending, developing, and maintaining present and future systems that support the facilities operations, logistics, and inventory process.

Essential Functions

  • Previous experience in WMS management controls, Scale systems preferred

  • Articulate – Ability to intelligently communicate the business to both the client and employees using facts and emotional intelligence

  • Operational experience preferred allowing for a bridge in the gap between business and operations

  • Data analytics – Microsoft suite – Excel

  • Experience in researching inventory discrepancies between actual inventory count and inventory within WMS

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Promotes positive customer relationships

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to prioritize and organize work, along with strong follow-up, analytical, problem solving and sound decision making skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with customers, employees, peers and management

  • Ability to work self-directed with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work independently and as member of a team

  • Ability to manage individual performance and employee relations

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices

  • Intermediate computer skills required

  • Exposure to Lean principles, systems and tools beginner preferred

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) intermediate preferred

  • Knowledge of OSHA required intermediate preferred

  • DOT and Hazmat knowledge may be required based on the account intermediate preferred

  • APICS certified intermediate preferred

Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma/GED required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred logistics, supply chain, or related field

  • Two (2) years or more in manufacturing/production/distribution inventory required

  • Two (2) years or more supervisory experience required

  • Two (2) years or more PC Inventory and accounting skills required

  • Two (2) years or more in problem solving skills experience, use of formal Root Cause Countermeasure Systems preferred

  • Intermediate computer skills required

  • Exposure to Lean principles, systems and tools beginner preferred

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) intermediate preferred

  • Knowledge of OSHA required intermediate preferred

  • DOT and Hazmat knowledge may be required based on the account intermediate preferred

  • APICS certified intermediate preferred
