As an International Logistics Manager , you will be a front line supervisor interacting directly with the client to drive business excellence through qualitymetrics. You will also be Ryder’s liaison on site. This is a high growth opportunity, and with a solid track record you will have the opportunityto move into more senior management roles and beyond.

Position Details & Preferred Skillset:

  • Candidates should have a customer-service orientation and the drive for career progression

  • Experience managing successful customer relationships is required to drive safety, performance, innovation, and success.

  • Responsible for managing multiple people and adapting to clientneeds

  • Consistently monitor your team’s performance to effectively coach and influence continuous improvements

  • Experience with MS Excel is preferred for reporting purposes

  • As the Logistics Manager your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage, track, and drive continuous improvement in our customer’s international logistics operations

  • Monitor global inbound and outbound shipments for direct and indirect material via air, ocean, rail, and over-the-road transportation modes

  • Maintain, analyze, and reduce premium freight spending

  • Provide freight cost estimates

  • Work with customer engineering functional teams to support vehicle launch programs.

  • Monitor carrier performance and address any performance concerns

  • Support customer initiatives including Short Lead Time, Controlled External Transportation, scheduled shipping/receiving, and export compliance

  • Some weekends and on-call time are required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Logistics or Transportation or 8 (eight) years of combined college and/or relevant equivalent work experience is required

  • Minimum of 2 (two) years of supervisory experience required

  • Experience with warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems required

  • Experience with ground transportation operations including DOT, OSHA and all related safety regulations

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring flawless execution and adherence to pre-established customer critical success factors

  • Management of all areas of transportation to include safety, transportation, DOT regulation, compliance, P and L responsibility, distribution and customer service

  • Management of assigned direct reports to include employee relation issues, performance management, new employee training and development
