Ryder System Dispatcher II (Transportation) in TUKWILA, Washington

Position Description

Dispatch- Full Time

Mon- Fri 5 am- 2 pm

$19.00-$21.00/hr

This position is typically dedicated to a Dispatcher who exhibits exemplary dispatch skills within an account or location, with the intent to take on more responsibility. The incumbent ensures that productivity and operational goals are met in order to deliver customer satisfaction. This individual will be working in a dynamic environment that focuses on delivering continuous measurable improvement to the customer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Experience with DOT, and driver routing with a minimum of two (2) years experience in logistics and/or transportation

  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred

  • Knowledge of/experience in transportation environment (i.e. shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch preferred) and knowledge of warehouse and/or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a lead dispatcher to help guide or answer any questions dispatchers may have throughout the course of the shift

  • Backfills dispatchers when needed

  • Provides training for all new hires and/or any additional training needed for current staff

  • Is responsible for ensuring any and all necessary forms used for the day-to-day operations are filled out to completely and accurately

  • Addresses any customer issues and/or provides resolution to problems that are within the scope of work or will, otherwise, engage management for help

  • Monitors and advises management if functional and productivity goals and objectives are not being met

  • Performs other duties as assigned
