Ryder System Hub Specialist (Transportation) in ROANOKE, Texas

Position Description

HUB Specialist- Full Time

Mon- Fri 8 am- 5 pm

$16-$17/hr

Payroll/Billing Exp. Pref'd

Strong Excel, Data Entry, KPI, Auditing & Reconciliation

Ability to Work Alone or a Team

The Hub Specialist will process driver payroll, owner operator pay and customer billing, which includes driver trip sheet auditing, and will perform automated processes in the various payroll systems to submit audited payroll for processing. S/he will perform customer billing, according to the contractual agreement between Ryder and the customer, and communicate with Payroll and Billing field staff, supervisor and management regarding payroll or billing delays and issues. This individual will maintain team member goals to complete weekly payroll and billing duties, demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills adhering to payroll and billing deadlines, and will maintain files for payroll and billing.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Two (2) years or more Experience Experience with DOT, and driver routing with minimum of 2 years’ experience in Logistics and/or Transportation preferred

  • Two (2) years or more Experience Customer service or call center experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication and follow up skills

  • Ability to:

  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Work independently and as member of a team

  • Use independent judgment to establish accuracy and reasonableness of information preferred

  • Utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines preferred

  • Consistently demonstrate honesty, integrity, and truthfulness which promote the team focus and a positive and credible workplace preferred

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized with strong time management skills

  • Demonstrates customer service skills to include excellent phone skills

  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up

  • Knowledge in transportation environment, (i.e.: Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch) (intermediate level) preferred

  • Knowledge of supply chain software applications, routing and dispatch software systems (intermediate level) preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Understand computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email (intermediate level)

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service support to drivers and client representatives in a transportation environment. Dispatch drivers accordingly, utilizing the appropriate systems

  • Partner with the field to complete all duties with 98% accuracy, on time, and follow through to internal customer

  • Understands the reason for the new tasks, assesses process and deliverables, and provides ideas for consolidation and automation

  • Assist management to provide guidance for new hires and/or any additional training needed for current staff

  • Audit and determine whether functional, productivity goals and objectives are being met (OBC Compliance, Trip Completion, Continuous Improvement) Report discrepancies to Sr. Hub Specialist

  • Responsible for monitoring the shared email account and provide timely updates and responses to the Sr. Hub Specialist

  • Performs other duties as assigned
