Ryder System Warehouse Manager - Multiple Shifts in Painesville, Ohio

Position Description

The Warehouse Manager internally titled "Customer Logistics Manager" will be dedicated to supporting our account, a chemicals company and is responsible for all aspects of the operation including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, inventory and account management within a 150K square feet distribution center. The CLM is directly and indirectly responsible for 20 to 30 employees between 1 st and 2 nd shift and ensuring that daily operational goals are set and met within their functional areas.

  • Knowledge of Lean Practices and Root Cause and Countermeasure Resolution.

  • Experience in warehouse or distribution environment preferred.

  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational Skills.

  • Employee relations/issue resolution.

  • Disciplinary actions.

  • Quality assurance Administrative duties.

  • Customer satisfaction/problem resolution.

  • Ensure functional area meets all productivity goals and objectives.

  • Safety management and reporting.

Knowledge of working with hazardous and non-hazardous materials preferred.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or 4 years of related experience is required

  • Advanced Level Skills in MS Excel such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and text

  • Minimum 1 (one) year of supervisory experience required

  • Experience with ground transportation operations including DOT, OSHA and all related safety regulations

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Three to five years experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse or industry related field is preferred

  • Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment (i.e., Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch preferred)

  • Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems preferred

  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills preferred
