Positions are involved in the administration, contracting, negotiation and management of all modal transportation services on behalf of Ryder Transportation Management Clients. Responsible for Premium Ground Expedite RFP packages, carrier price & service negotiations, market research, RFP analysis & carrier selection, carrier analysis, carrier development & meetings, carrier/client meeting preparation and customer route guide preparation. Also responsible for Premium Ground Expedite RFP interaction with carriers, client ops teams & clients as well as ISO procedure maintenance.
Contracting of all modal transportation services
Provide support to the LTL modal team.
Premium Ground Expedite carrier price & service negotiations
Premium Ground Expedite carrier development and meetings
Preparation of Premium Ground Expedite RFP packages, analysis, carrier selection and route guides
Work with the TSPD modal teams and legal to contract all modes of transportation and send to service providers to sign and return by utilizing DocuSign, email, fax or LMS
Maintain regular follow-up through email or phone calls with the service providers to insure that all their documents are signed and returned timely. If need be, engage the appropriate modal team to assist with the return of the documents. Scan the signed and returned documents into SpyVision
Assist the engineering/qualifications team by providing them with all the current LTL pricing by service provider at least three times a year
Provide support to the LTL modal team when needed by assisting in RFP preparation, data gathering, data analysis, route guide preparation, carrier meeting preparation and reporting
Meet with ground expedite carriers to built and maintain good working relationship and understand their service area and capabilities. Ensure any new service providers meet Ryder requirements and contract when applicable
Work directly with the Operation Specialists and OMC to determine customers ground expedite needs and requirements. When applicable, work with the ground expedite service providers and Operations Teams to negotiate any rate adjustments and/or perform RFP's
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree Business, Logistics or related field of study or a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience.
Four (4) years or more experience Related experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Performs work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
Demonstrates analytical skills. Ability to handle and analyze large data files and respond with the customer in mind
Strong knowledge in the MS Office suite of tools; advanced level.
