Ryder System Logistics Analyst (Heavy Travel) in NOVI, Michigan

Position Description

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design Supply Chain Solutions in current and future operations. This includes Cube Analysis, Weekly Frequencies, Dock Scheduling and Troubleshooting, Supply and Carrier times and more.

This is a Heavy Travel role requiring up to 80% travel . You will act as a utility player traveling to support additional business needs at different customer locations.

You will:

  • Possess excellent Excel skills (Access, MGO and GUI are pluses but not required)

  • Be able to quickly build the trust of your customers and managers

  • Be extremely customer focused, providing top customer service at all times

  • Be available to travel with little notice


  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation or related field or 8 (eight) years equivalent work experience

  • Intermediate level skills with MS Word such as including styles, mail merge, tabs, tables, columns and breaks, graphics, fields, headers and footers, working with margins, page orientation, and spelling/grammar

  • Intermediate level skills with MS Excel such as freezing/unfreezing panes, hiding/un-hiding data, setting print titles & page breaks, linking workbooks, creating external links, re-directing links, customizing toolbars & menus, protecting a worksheet, filtering options, and chart formatting options


Candidate must also possess strong customer service, analytical skills to include:

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision


  • Collects data and performs statistical analysis

  • Maps and documents processes

  • Conducts transportation analysis

  • Participates in continuous improvement projects Works with other team members to develop alternative solutions

  • Uses Lean Six Sigma tools (5s and 5whys)
