The Senior Manager Organizational Development leads organizational development efforts in support of executive vision and business strategy, works with senior leaders in HR and across business to align resources and prepare organizational talent to accomplish corporate objectives and increases managerial capability and leadership competency at all levels. This Sr. Manager builds processes and programs that enhance individual, team and organizational capabilities, improves business results, employee engagement, innovation and customer service through enhanced leadership capabilities of talent pool across Ryder, and reduces talent skill gaps, while increasing bench strength to create skilled, prepared internal resources for growth opportunities or vacancies.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for advising senior leaders. Increase management capabilities. Develop leadership competencies and support organizational change initiatives

  • Coordinates staff resources and partners to shape corporate culture

  • Manages the creation and implementation of talent management initiatives to facilitate the selection, development and optimization of talent pool, including: applicant/employee assessment, succession planning, career development, performance management, management training, leadership development and executive coaching

  • Aids execution of appropriate change management initiatives related to organizational transition activities. Acts as an internal business consultant on enterprise wide & large divisional change efforts, mainly those that affect organizational structure, roles and/or leadership behaviors. Makes recommendations to senior HR leadership based on research & best practices for addressing organizational issues. Responsible to manage corporate culture assessment, employee engagement, innovation/change & other strategies required to achieve & maintain a high performance environment

  • Runs Needs Analysis & works closely with HR field resources to determine most effective use of human capital resources as well as measure skill gaps & identify organizational themes. Uses strategic analysis to align programs & processes to achieve executive vision and business strategy with internal talent. Works with TM Systems group to measure performance metrics for programs implemented across enterprise. Oversees the work of highly skilled Organizational Development Consultants

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices


  • Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field

  • Master's degree preferred MBA or related field

  • Ten (10) years or more experience in Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior or Organizational Change preferably in a Fortune 500/Corporate environment required

  • Ten (10) years or more experience advising senior leadership, implementing methodologies and practices within a Fortune 500 organization that creates and sustain a high performance culture required

Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market

data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or

certifications, etc. The salary for this position ranges from $80 to $100K
