Ryder System Workday Benefits Analyst in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Workday Benefits Analyst is responsible for the analysis, research and problem resolution of benefits programs which may have a significant impact within the company or division. Will predominantly be involved in the administrative and technical support of the health and welfare and retirement programs offered to Ryder employees in the U.S. and Canada. This role will need to act as a Workday resource for the department to help everyone utilize the system more effectively and function as an expert for benefits transactions and processes. Will interface with employees, managers, Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits Accounting, HRIS and a variety of vendors and benefits administrators.


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Three (3) years or more experience in developing and administering HR/Benefits projects and systems

  • Two (2) years or more experience with Workday

  • Demonstrates analytical skills

  • Demonstrates problem solving skills

  • Must possess demonstrated ability to handle and resolve complex and high exposure benefits issues

  • Effective interpersonal skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to:

  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Work independently and as a member of a team

  • Knowledge of Benefits Administration; advanced level

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access. Will use several different systems to access employee data including outside vendor systems (advanced level)

  • Extensive knowledge of SAP, Workday and/or other HR/Payroll systems (advanced level) preferred


  • Benefit administration including health & welfare plans, and retirement plans. Review and analyze reporting for: discrimination testing, Medicare Secondary Payer reports, HSA funding reports, and ACA annual reports, among others. Work with internal and external audit teams to develop key controls, and to ensure they are being met

  • Provide hands on design, configuration, implementation and support for existing and new integrations within Workday. Perform activities across functional areas and interact directly with internal and external customers with respect to Workday planning, problem resolution, process improvement and reporting

  • Compliance functions related to reviewing and maintaining the integrity of data in SAP/Workday vs. vendor systems via weekly and monthly data validation and error reporting processes

  • Responsible for researching and resolving issues related to Ryder's benefit plans. Plans will include health and welfare plans, and retirement benefit plans. Will work closely with third party administrators, employees, and a variety of internal company departments such as HR, Payroll, HRIS and IT

  • Utilize multiple systems to research historical employee data to determine benefit eligibility

  • Responsible for day to day problem resolution related to benefits, relocation, and service awards processes and any corresponding employee issues

  • Manage weekly and monthly error reports to validate and maintain data integrity between Ryder and vendor systems to ensure Benefits meets agreed upon compliance requirements

  • Participate in other Benefits department projects and assist as needed

  • Performs other duties as assigned
