Position Description

The Technology Transformation Program Delivery Senior Director focuses on the human, organizational, and value stream aspects of business processes and their transformation. This position directs department staff and activities to ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources and technology in order to meet the organization's transformation goals. The Technology Transformation Program Delivery Senior Director strives to deliver transformational change by creating a future vision for business operations, gaining alignment from key Ryder leaders on that vision, and ensuring successful implementation through structured roadmaps and direct business ownership/involvement.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree

  • Master's degree or relevant advanced degree preferred

  • Ten (10) years or more experience within an IT and business environment in positions of progressing responsibility

  • Ten (10) years or more Project Management Experience, including Agile Delivery Principles – Managing Large Projects, Portfolios or Product Teams - demonstrate project management and system development lifecycle best practices

  • Seven (7) years or more experience in business transformation and or change management

  • Five (5) years or more demonstrated experience managing multi-million dollar budget to ensure effective controls on expenditures and compliance with accounting guidelines

  • Five (5) years or more Experience People management responsibilities in a matrixed environment

  • Ability to:

  • Demonstrate collaborative working relationships with peers and foster the same with direct reports, and other business leads

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to key senior leadership

  • Work independently, manage multiple projects, manage in a matrixed organization, manage priorities and meet deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High level of personal accountability and motivation with the ability to drive these traits within a team

  • Proven record of influencing senior leaders to balance competing priorities

  • Prefer prior experience in cloud and SaaS implementations; including legacy system integrations with custom solutions preferred

  • Proficiency with MS Office including Project, Excel, Visio and SharePoint (intermediate level)

  • Proficiency in change management methodologies (intermediate level)

  • Proficiency in Project Management tools and templates (intermediate level)

  • Knowledge of process metrics and establishing baselines (intermediate level) preferred

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred


  • Define and execute various types of strategic and operational business transformation initiatives; facilitates and drives actions plans and next steps to move toward future business vision

  • Overall responsibility for serving as the strategic interface with assigned business units for the purpose of business/IT strategy development (or implementation), solution discovery, risk management and relationship management; change management and process efficiency gains

  • Ensure proper alignment and planning for business resources availability to ensure success of key transformation programs; identify business resources needed to support transformation initiatives, including securing resources and identifying backfill needs; Ensuring clear identification of business resources prior to program/project initiation

  • Partner with business to ensure the development of an effective change management plan to support the rollout of applications and solutions. Partner with business to ensure stakeholder resource availability, alignment, buy-in, and communications planning

  • Provide regular executive leadership updates on the roadmap, execution, progress, and key risks facing transformation; specifically focuses on change and process risks as they relate to successful transformation efforts

  • Drive the direction of the business by determining where the organization needs to go to succeed, understanding the resources available, and collaborating with others on how to get to the future state

  • Responsible for facilitation, coordination and maintenance for business process architecture, unmet needs and opportunities & prioritization of associated transformation initiatives

  • Support financials, budget and forecast management of the HR and Finance transformation

  • Facilitate team meetings and cross-functional workshops; support process optimization Kaizen events and all process efficiency work needed prior to designing/delivering an operational strategy and roadmap

  • Responsible for driving improvements through the Transformation roadmap specifically in the area of HR and Financial systems

  • Provides guidance and direction regarding business processes, workflow development, and implementation

  • Supports building a company-wide HR & Finance transformation communication plan & execute accordingly

  • Proactively shares knowledge of business risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness across Ryder processes and systems

  • Facilitates the planning and execution of business changes through the definition of business vision, alignment of processes, and technology - Specific to HR and Financial Systems and the Technology requirements to support

  • Research and documentation of current state financial and mainframe systems, including understanding of age, support structure and risk associated to leaving systems in place

  • Research and documentation of current state HRIS and Payroll systems, including but not limited to SAP, Talent Map, eProfiles, Payroll, and any other HRIS and Payroll direct & indirect systems

  • Identification of critical dependencies and develop knowledge materials to support the business and IT leadership in making educated decisions around project priorities

  • Delivering recommendations for future state systems including implementation timing, scope, phases, dependences and priorities

  • Responsible for partnering and guiding stakeholders and vendors (internal and external to Ryder) to ensure proper strategy, plan, alignment, integration and visibility/transparency throughout the transformation lifecycle

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, performance improvement and technology business management reporting

  • Support regular status reporting for all HR and Financial system replacement/transformation/technology proposals, including package selection, implementation, technology components (data, integrations, conversion, testing, ect.)

  • Leads matrixed organization; overseeing team members that are supporting the implementation of the strategic roadmap that will not always roll-up to you or your organization from a management perspective

  • Lead, coach, manage and mentor transformation team members and other key project team members as the team evolves

  • Support the selection of the most relevant tools/services/techniques to meet specific requirements needed as project progress

  • Identifies and solves problems using analysis, experience, and judgment; Ability to simplify complex situations and identify the critical few items to drive results

  • Support teams to drive for common, best practice solutions

  • Perform other duties as assigned
