Ryder System Strategy & Development COOP Manager in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Strategy & Development COOP Manager position performs research and analysis, including project management (often with broadly defined objective), of COOP strategy initiatives. The manager will present this information and analysis to all levels of COOP management.

COOP is an innovation initiative at Ryder that allows truck owners to monetize their idle assets through a digital platform. It has been described as Airbnb for Trucks and provides a marketplace where lenders can post their available trucks and borrowers can search for nearby vehicles. The goal of COOP is to connect trusted businesses in a safe environment, making trucks easy to share.



  • Master's degree in Business/Finance or the equivalent

  • Five (5) years or more experience in related field

  • Demonstrates analytical skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrates problem solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to:

  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Derive innovative solutions

  • Interact with and influence senior management

  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of MS Office (advanced level)

  • Knowledge of Transportation Industry (intermediate level) preferred


  • Includes project managements of various degrees and timeframes

  • Meet with key internal resources on projects and present and discuss findings and recommendations

  • Conduct and present Financial/Strategy Analysis (Update and adjust financial models)

  • Track Industry trends and econometrics, prepare findings of impact/implications for COOP

  • Report to management on current and relevant industry and competitor trends and activities

  • Offer guidance and instruction to other analysts and consultantsSelect and manage vendors providers for services required for COOP

  • Write operation guides and complete ad-hoc assignments for management as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned
