Ryder System Sr. Compensation Analyst in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Sr. Compensation Analyst will actively participate in broad-based compensation program development activities for Ryder, including base pay and incentives. This position will provide analytical expertise to the HR generalists and business units, providing guidance and interpretation of policy and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field

  • Three to five years of compensation experience with a strong understanding of compensation practices and trends

  • Strong incentive compensation and data analysis skills with particular emphasis on sales commission plans

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and aptitude for data reporting tool methodology and fundamentals

  • Excellent organizational, project and time management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client and colleague interaction

  • Ability to manage shifting, and sometimes competing, priorities, deadlines and maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all matters related to employee compensation

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform job analysis and market pricing while adhering to the company's compensation philosophy

  • Work with HR generalists to ensure receipt of accurate, comprehensive job descriptions

  • Assist in creation of career ladders for all job families to ensure conformity with the external market and across Ryder

  • Co-ordinate company involvement in market surveys; participate in and oversee analysis of compensation surveys

  • Support the design, development, implementation and administration of incentive compensation programs

  • Conducts sales compensation related studies to include cross-functional collaboration to prepare analysis

  • Develop analytical models and recommendations for compensation programs

  • Consistently apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations

  • Analyze compensation policies relative to government wage and hour regulations and recommend changes as appropriate to establish and maintain competitive rates

  • Ensure company compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws, including reporting requirements

  • Advise managers and employees on compensation policies and FLSA classification

  • Analyze organization pay practices and make recommendations for salary changes to ensure equity

  • Ensure the administration of compensation programs is in compliance with established guidelines, processes, and procedures

  • This may include programs such as incentive compensation, sales compensation, annual merit review cycle, geographic differentials, shift differentials, etc

  • Provide consultation, problem solving and customer service support to client groups

  • May deliver compensation-related training and presentations. Special projects as assigned

  • Knowledge and Skills: Sound job evaluation skills; must possess the ability to apply classification principles effectively and exercise sound judgment in recommendations for classification of a wide variety of positions. Strong knowledge of market pricing

  • Knowledge of organization structure, staffing patterns. In depth experience in the design and/or administration of bonus plans

  • Deep knowledge of statistical sampling and survey methodology for analyzing data and generating reports

  • Must be able to accurately compile and synthesize both quantitative and qualitative data

  • Knowledge of career development and career laddering concepts, principles, and processes

  • Skill in developing policy, process and procedure documentation

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong multi-tasking skills

  • Exceptional follow up skills
