Ryder System Senior Manager, Internal Corporate Communications in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Senior Manager of Internal Corporate Communications - Internal manages the day-to-day projects, campaigns, and assignments related to employee communications for Ryder globally encompassing the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. The role manages, drafts and disseminates effective messaging that is designed to motivate desired changes with internal audience behaviors and positively influence the real and perceived value of Ryder as an employer, a brand, a business solutions provider, an investment opportunity, a business partner, an industry leader, and a community member. In addition, this role will position and promote the relevancy and benefits of employee communications to senior management and the field organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Communications, Marketing, or related field

  • Eight (8) years or more experience in Communications preferably in a corporate environment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, detail oriented and highly organized

  • Collaborative and team-oriented work-style

  • Ability to:

  • Both personally produce and develop written and other forms of communications as well as lead and direct other internal employees and outside resources to meet deadlines with accurate, high quality deliverables (advanced level)

  • Develop strong business partnerships with management and peers company-wide

  • Effectively multi-task in a deadline-driven environment

  • Leverage resources across multiple functions

  • Excellent project management skills - manage projects from conception to final execution including managing and reconciling budgets

  • Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate level)

  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry (intermediate level) preferred

  • Familiarity with Yammer or other social media platforms (e.g. Dynamic Signal) (intermediate level) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Proactively establish internal communications as a resource for the organization and take the lead on internal communications projects. Identify opportunities to reinforce the company’s core values and strategic priorities in internal messaging. Responsibilities include developing employee communications plans and drafting communications, supporting business units and functions (e.g., IT, HR, Finance) with internal communication programs, administration and operation of Ryder’s intranet (R WORLD), writing and editing executive speeches, as well as ad hoc projects

  • Provide communications lead/support for: roll-out of intranet to UK employees, continue onboarding and recruitment efforts for employees in the field with specific focus on drivers and technicians; and expand Mexico onboarding, internal change management initiatives – acquisitions/divestitures, business process changes, reorganizations, changes in workforce, policy and process modifications, executive business strategy communications, Chairman’s Quarterly Business Update, quarterly Officers’ Calls, issue/Crisis communication efforts - natural disasters; pandemics, loss of key customers, accidents or employee incidences, other projects – newsletters, videos, etc.

  • Establish processes for internal communications project management. Manage workflow and assignments

  • Identify, develop, manage and monitor success of internal communications platforms

  • Perform other duties as assigned
