Ryder System Senior Consultant of Market Data Analytics & Customer Insights in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Senior Consultant of Market Data Analytics & Customer Insights is responsible for driving results from data collection, analysis, and summarization, as well as synthesizing and reporting salient market and customer insights to mid-level and executive management across all Ryder business units. To be successful in this role, the individual must be a self-starter who possesses strong technical, database management, and analytical skills to be able to analyze customer and market data. The Senior Consultant should be highly proficient in SQL and have broad based knowledge of data management, preparation, analytics and presentation tools like Alteryx, R, and Python as well as Excel, Microstrategy, and PowerBI (other similar tools) for manipulation and preparation. Familiarity with Data Lakes and Azure Data Bricks is highly desirable. He/she must be able to extract and integrate data and accurately summarize the information for oral and written presentation. The candidate should also possess a good working knowledge of statistics and interpretation of results in regression models and other data science techniques.

As part of the larger Global Marketing organization, the Senior Consultant of Market Data Analytics & Customer Insights must also possess strong leadership and communication skills to be able to guide the development and execution of analytical projects with input from Marketing teams, as well as collaborate with Sales, Operations, Strategy, and external B2B vendors in successful project completion. The individual will play a key role in projects that include strategic market analysis, reporting market size, share, growth, trends and segmentation, conducting similar analysis across Ryder product lines and customer segments, developing top target lists for execution in B2B marketing and sales campaigns and analysis of campaign/sales results, and utilizing statistical modeling techniques with in-house and third-party suppliers to refine predictive models for targeting prospects, customer upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and churn/at-risk segments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology / MIS, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Marketing or related field

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Five (5) years or more experience in data integration and analytics using advanced SQL or other relational database programing languages.

  • Five (5) years or more experience in querying, summarizing and reporting customer and product line data from CRM, accounting and/or financial systems

  • Five (5) years or more experience in statistical market/operations research, integrated marketing, product management, corporate strategy or similar role

  • Experience in querying, summarizing and reporting market data from external systems including Dun & Bradstreet, Equifax, Cortera, Bloomberg, Capital IQ and/or iHS Automotive (Polk) is a plus

  • Understanding of and experience with Azure DataBricks or other Data Lake tools is highly desirable

  • Understanding of and experience with Digital Analytics (traffic, conversion, Google Analytics, content consumption, page sequencing, points of contact, etc.) is a plus.

  • Process Automation using scripting and other ETL automation tools using SQL

  • Strong understanding of building data models and architecture using SQL

  • Excellent project management skills managing multiple priorities from senior management as well as working across teams and meeting deadlines

  • Excellent collaborative and team leading skills in managing projects across various departments, suppliers, and teams including Insights, Digital, Integrated Marketing, IT, Sales, Operations, and Strategy, and external vendors

  • Excellent verbal skills for presenting to mid-level and executive management, as well as written skills and PowerPoint

  • Strong analytical skills in being able to review large data sets in Excel and summarizing into pivots and charts that are extracted into PowerPoint with key insights and concise executive management summaries

  • Demonstrates tactical marketing knowledge including conducting data analysis, customer/market research, creating reports and dashboards for management (advanced level)

  • Experience in B2B markets and products, with Ryder or similar fleet management, transportation or logistics experience is a plus (intermediate level)

Responsibilities

  • Primary resource for acquiring, summarizing, cleaning, validating, connecting, and analyzing data stored in an Azure Data Lake, Relational DBs, Reporting tools, and production systems.

  • Draw critical insights and relationships both qualitatively and quantitatively from raw data and present key findings in written and oral format to mid-level and senior management

  • Manage the market and customer analysis required to support strategic initiatives across Ryder’s Business Units, product lines and vertical industry segments

  • Guide the development and execution of the market data analytics & insights team on assigned projects to procure data, conduct accurate and timely analysis and summarize, synthesize and report salient market and customer insights

  • Conduct strategic market analysis across Ryder Business Units that may include customer/market sizing, share, growth, trend analysis and segmentation; developing top target lists for execution in B2B marketing and sales campaigns and analysis of campaign/sales results; and utilizing statistical modeling techniques with in-house and third-party suppliers to refine predictive models for targeting prospects, customer up-sell/cross-sell opportunities, and churn/at-risk segments

  • Collaborate with other teams as needed in order to obtain necessary inputs for analytical projects and present key insights to cross-functional teams

  • Gather and summarize raw data from multiple source systems in pivot tables and PowerPoint

  • Performs other duties as assigned
