Ryder System Program Manager of Vehicle Supply Management in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Program Manager of Vehicle Supply Management is responsible for the strategic management and implementation of a number of enterprise wide Supply Management Programs. This position will interface with key vehicle suppliers to establish and maintain performance standards to help support the needs of the business across various functional areas. Strategies, policies and procedures will be created and managed to ensure that the implementable savings identified during the sourcing process are realized at the quality and service levels expected. Internal and external relationships, marketing, sales support, operation strategies and reporting will be effectively managed to ensure optimal program savings are realized through compliance and through process improvements both internal and external to Ryder.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, equivalent program or minimum of 8 years work experience

  • Three (3) years or more related experience in supply management or related field

  • Two (2) years or more working with automotive / commercial vehicle specifications and/or application engineering preferred

  • Rapidly learns and applies new information/concepts in Project Management

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective leadership skills

  • Develops direct reports, managing processes, deals with ambiguity, decision quality, managerial courage

  • Ability to:

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage internal and external relationships, operation strategies and reporting metrics to ensure optimal program savings and speed to market through compliance and process improvements both internal and external to Ryder

  • Responsibility for leading continuous improvement efforts within the supply chain

  • Interacts with Suppliers, customers and internal functional support teams to ensure results are achieved

  • Develop, maintain and monitor negotiated KPIs and other performance metrics to track supplier performance and ensure compliance

  • Key position parameters are cost reduction, portfolio management, supplier performance, operational support and supply chain process improvement

  • Conduct periodic supplier business review and supplier facility audits

  • Understand and help define supplier vehicle specifications based on market and Ryder maintenance requirements

  • Operational support to internal customers relating to vehicle configuration, quoting, purchasing and delivery

  • Opportunities for program enhancement and expansion will be actively pursued

  • Understand & keep up with industry and competitive landscape of supply base

  • Perform other duties as assigned
