Ryder System Program Manager of Vehicle Supply Management in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Program Manager of Vehicle Supply Management is responsible for the strategic management and implementation of a number of enterprise wide Supply Management Programs. This position will interface with key vehicle suppliers to establish and maintain performance standards to help support the needs of the business across various functional areas. Strategies, policies and procedures will be created and managed toensure that the implementable savings identified during the sourcing process are realized at the quality and service levels expected. Internal and external relationships, marketing, sales support, operation strategies and reporting will be effectively managed to ensure optimal program savings are realized through compliance and through process improvements both internal and external to Ryder.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain/equivalent program or a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience

  • Requires a minimum of 1-2 years related experience in leading or managing projects

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred, attainment is required within 12 months in the position

  • Lean Six Sigma Red Belt Certification preferred, attainment is required within 12 months

  • Proficiency in MS Office including MS Project

  • Rapidly learns and applies new information/concepts in Project Management

  • Knowledge of Transportation management functions - industry, operation and management

  • Experience and understanding of dedicated fleet function, operation and management

  • Experience and understanding of material flow functions - e.g. cross docking

Responsibilities

  • Supports business start-ups for small to medium sized programs

  • Manages assigned projects using program management methodologies and techniques in accordance with established standards

  • Interacts with customers and internal functional support teams to ensure results are achieved

  • Develops implementation strategy to meet customer expectations

  • Develop and manage plans to include scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communication, and risks

  • Coordinates the identification of certification to begin live operations criteria

  • Monitors post implementation customer expectations and standards
