Ryder System Payroll Coordinator in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for performing the input and processing of several payroll cycles, updating SAP employee profiles, providing customer service to employees, and other performing ad hoc payroll tasks as required.


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Three (3) years or more of experience working in payroll, A/P, or accounting, in a large company environment

  • Three (3) years or more of Ryder experience preferred

  • Intermediate level skills in MS Word and MS Excel

  • Basic computer and email skills

  • Good command of the English language

  • Past success in reading, interpreting and applying regulations

  • Strong verbal and written skills with ability to communicate clearly and accurately

  • Ability to work well independently

  • SAP experience (proficiency in SAP payroll) at the intermediate level preferred


  • Files, mail services, and other administrative duties

  • Establish Personnel Area codes for US and Canada

  • Process payroll for several Payroll Areas in SAP

  • Update employee profiles, as required, for several Payroll Areas in SAP

  • Answer questions on departmental services, functions and practices

  • Act as backup for other coordinators who administer payroll changes and/or run payroll cycles

  • Respond to requests for information from external agencies, such as unemployment appeals; gather historical data

  • Make all commission adjustments to multiple payroll cycles in SAP

  • Make corrections for payroll rejections in SAP

  • Make vacation accrual corrections in SAP

  • Process leaves of absence in accordance to state law and company policy

  • Perform other duties as assigned
