Ryder System IT Project Financial Consultant in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The IT Accounting Consultant ( Project Financial Consultant) will provide financial planning and analytical support to large scale delivery projects and/or Agile Scrum deliveries. He/She is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of all project related financials, including vendor invoicing, employee time reporting, and weekly & monthly project financial budget vs. forecast analysis. The Project Financial Consultant will be responsible for reviewing and consolidating input from all workstreams and associated project/program managers, to regularly update the project forecast, providing information directly to both Program Leadership and the Director of IT Financials. There will be a high level of interaction, up to senior levels, with various internal organizations. This position requires experience in project financial management, including business case buildout, as well as, weekly/monthly project financial management (Plan, Actuals and Forecast Management).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a Master's degree in Accounting coupled with a non-accounting Bachelor's degree

  • A minimum of three (3) years in the accounting field

  • CPA license is strongly preferred

  • Prior public accounting experience (Big 4) is strongly preferred

  • Ability to:

  • Interact with external and internal auditors, management and others within the organization

  • Manage multiple projects, and possess strong analytical skills

  • Work with large data files

  • Knowledge of Ryder accounting systems (Walker and Hyperion) and reporting structures preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in reporting and analyzing operating results and segment Balance Sheets

  • Participate in Hyperion and Walker related projects

  • Ensure assigned controls are operating effectively

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliation during the close process

  • Provide support to other departments such as Finance, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, Marketing, Environmental, and internal and external auditors

  • Assist management in the performance of special projects and process improvements

  • Perform other duties as assigned
