Ryder System IT Manager - Low Code & Intelligent Automation in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The IT Manager for Low Code and Intelligent Automation teamwill support the Fleet Management Solutions customers and technical teams for solutioning end-to-endprocess analysis, design and coding using low code platforms and process automation tools.

Additional Requirements for this role include:

  • Two (2) years or more experience with Appian BPM as well as a thorough understanding of relational databases, SQL and web services preferred

  • Assist customers in developing automation strategies and roadmaps while also providing guidance around Centers of Excellence, best practices, and overall program governance

  • Develop business requirements for the implementation of future state automation capabilities

  • Build, test, and deliver robotic automation capabilities using industry leading RPA technology vendor solutions

  • Contribute thought leadership to the development and evolution of our Digital Enablement Practice methodologies and intellectual capital including publishing articles, whitepapers, or performing research in support of Ryder initiatives

  • Experience with Appian Designer or Lead Designer certification is a plus

  • Exposure to process automation modeling/scripting with tools such as UIPath, BluePrism, Automation Anywhere, Kofax

  • Experience with SQL, Java or JavaScript, and application API development

  • Exposure to Data Analytics, Cognitive / AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP) with preference given for industry experience

  • Certification in one or more of the process automation technology is a plus

  • Provides leadership to team during creation and deployment of automation solutions for intelligent automation initiatives

  • Builds consensus with executives for the implementation of new programs and initiatives for the business areas supported

  • Provides updates to senior executives and other leaders regarding projects on a scheduled or ad-hoc basis

  • Manages issues around automation development, resource utilization, project management and quality

  • Provides process standards and best practices to the organization, ensuring that the development process runs at benchmark performance levels

  • Manages and monitors budgets for automation

  • Researches and promotes industry best practices, implementing across the organization

  • Provides tools and metrics to monitor productivity, consistency and business effectiveness

  • Leads engagement, development and performance management of the team

  • Collaborates with all business functions to ensure accuracy of assumptions in automation project plans

  • Collaborates with IT to ensure all policies and procedures related to IT infrastructure, security and development are followed

  • Keeps abreast of technology trends and Ryder’s direction, selects technology platforms that are appropriate and cost beneficial, and establishes business relationships to support the application of technology to specific business areas

  • Interacts with automation vendors on their proposals, capabilities, delivery methodology and standards for development

  • Promotes continuous improvement philosophy and methodology that shapes in a performance driven culture

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree BA/BS with emphasis in Logistics, Transportation, Computer Science or Business

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Seven (7) years or more Information Technology experience with at least 5 (five) years in a supervisory/management role

  • Four (4) years or more experience working with Data & Analytics, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence environments within IT or the Business

  • Three (3) years or more experience in Maintenance operations of logistic transportation and warehouse industry is highly desired preferred

  • Interested and be capable of learning our business and be able to have non-technical conversations with the business users

  • Candidate must be a highly organized, responsive, reliable, pro-active and a self-starter requiring minimum supervision

  • Candidate must possess excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communications skills, capable of providing technology briefings as needed

  • Ability to manage support people in a matrix environment, be pro-active with a continuous improvement mind set, motivate and generate results through influence

  • Strong software product and industry knowledge (advanced level)

  • Informatica Power Center and IICS or similar data integration tool experience is highly desired (intermediate level) preferred

  • MicroStrategy, PowerBI experience or other visual discovery tool is highly desired (intermediate level) preferred

  • Exposure to statistical projections models, machine learning, predictive & prescriptive analytics (intermediate level) preferred

  • Experience with Netezza, Snowflake DW, SQL Server (intermediate level) preferred

  • Exposure to R and Python (intermediate level) preferred

  • Background in product development, product definition and product deployment (advanced level) preferred

  • PC and software product skills such as MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project (advanced level)

  • PMI or Scrum Master preferred

Responsibilities

  • Managing projects crossing multiple IT teams and impacting various business unitsManage IT staff that provides application and possible system operations support to various operational accounts

  • Provide IT support for medium and large complex programs

  • Provide IT project management for new application implementations and product development

  • Implement project execution methodologies within the team

  • Mentor and develop team with proactive succession planning management

  • Track and manage approved spending limits and come up with budget for the team

  • Performs other duties as assigned
