The Finance Business Partner will provide analytical, data mining and finance support to Ryders Maintenance Operations team, reporting to the Group Director FMS Finance. This position will provide support directly to the VP and Group Director(s) within our Maintenance Operations team. This person will work along side with our Data Analytics COE to support achievement of our $100 Million Dollar initiative goal. The candidate must provide support in a timely and organized manner as the analysis is utilized to maximize returns for the organization. Duties include analysis of actual results for presentation to Senior Leadership, as well as developing strategies for initiative attainment.
Consolidate, prepare and analyze financial data to understand cause-and-effect relationships and identify root causes. Will be expected to perform a broad spectrum of operation analysis which will include data gathering/extraction from Ryder's various IT systems and performing analysis of the data. Will be expected to be able to arrive at conclusions and give recommendations to senior management on the information obtained.
This position will provide statistical, financial and analytical support to Ryder’s fleet of 97,000 Lease and 25,500 Rental vehicles and 29,000 RPM vehicles.
Assist in developing statistical models for computing the company’s operating cost at the vehicle and component level (e.g. tires, engine, transmission, brakes, etc.), terminal value of the vehicle, terminal life of the vehicle (Rental & Lease), and the optimal holding period for the vehicle.
Assist in monthly forecast of the main cost drivers, like running costs, depreciation and interest for the three main product lines in FMS North America.
Assist in understanding the cost parameters of the FMS Business model including labor, running costs and fixed costs among others.
Assist in developing forecasting models to predict Revenue, Operating and Fixed costs and Disposals to assist Operational Analysis, Finance and Asset Management in planning new business and developing the Fleet Management Solutions business Plan.
Assist in presenting analysis results, operational data and forecasts in written and verbal formats to senior leadership.
Ability to arrive at conclusions and give recommendations to senior management on information obtained.
Identify data sources and best methods to carry out analysis
Recommend best approaches to building financial and operational models.

Master's degree preferred MBA
Four (4) years or more relevant experience required
Four (4) years or more experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred
Four (4) years or more experience in the use of SAS preferred
Four (4) years or more proficiency in programming and/or relational database design/query, SQL preferred
