Ryder System Field Finance Director - Supply Chain Solutions in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Field Finance Director position will provide financial support and act as a business partner to the VP of Operations and his team. The role includes financial, operational and commercial support for the business region, impact top line and bottom line growth.



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field is required

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a similar field with supervisory experience


  • MBA strongly preferred Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and multi-task in a demanding environment

  • Must be a self-starter, be able to work independently and as a team player, and have the ability to influence and persuade (multi-directional)

  • Excellent analytical skills, strong creative ability


  • Oversee the financial management of assigned accounts/product lines and work with the Finance Managers and Operations team to implement policies, procedures and controls

  • Oversee all business plans, forecasts and monthly close variance explanations for accuracy and timeliness

  • Work closely with the DCL's to identify opportunities for improvement as it relates to cost, productivity and performance against standards

  • Translate, communicate and implement corporate financial objectives within the organization

  • Forecast financial impact of proposed new businesses including optimizing the deal structure, development of customer proposals and subsequent negotiation

  • Prepare and analyze requests for capital expenditures and related management presentations

  • Proven ability to train, mentor and develop an empowered team

  • Develop organized labor wage & benefit modeling and assist in negotiation strategy

  • Review business contracts in conjunction with legal team to ensure company's business needs are best represented

  • Ensure adequate controls are in place and Sarbanes Oxley compliant

  • Oversee the collection of accounts receivable

  • Other ad hoc analysis and projects as required
