Ryder System Executive Assistant in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Executive Assistant is responsible for supporting the Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO). This position will handle a wide range of reporting, administrative, and executive support related tasks.


  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree Business or related field preferred

  • 5 to 10 years of administrative support experience

  • Three (3) years or more of experience supporting senior company management preferably for a global company

  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in English. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful

  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels and areas of management

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to proactively handle and prioritize a variety of tasks simultaneously

  • Professionalism and discretion in dealing with confidential material

  • Energetic, Self-Motivated and Highly Professional Demeanor

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, proficient in Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Oracle and Ariba buying suite helpful (advanced level)


  • Establish and maintain calendars. Schedule meetings, conferences, and appointments. Coordinates interview schedules

  • Working with functional leadership, intradepartmental members and suppliers, collect, analyze, integrate and distribute various performance measurement information regarding material and service expenses and savings, lead times, performance KPI’s and distribute regular reports to supply management staff, general management staff and other affected parties. Prove a level of analysis to explain month to month performance drivers

  • Coordinate all travel arrangements and logistics for international and domestic travel

  • Interpret departmental expense budgets and summarize in management reports. Participate in budget setting for the department

  • Prepares and handles confidential information such as annual performance reviews, salary data and other confidential and proprietary information

  • Liaise with senior management, business units and other internal and external contacts using professional judgment in handling routine matters and information requests

  • Performs other duties as assigned
