Ryder System Enterprise Cloud Architect in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Cloud Architect leads and helps the organization in the effective and efficient design and engineering of cloud infrastructure and solutions that supports all business processes across the enterprise. This individual will have a diversified background of cloud infrastructure & solution experience using Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, experience in architecting and deploying cloud hosted solutions, migrating large on premise solutions to cloud, optimizing networking and security configurations. This individual is also responsible for coordination with other architecture and technical resources to ensure that the solutions are scalable, reliable and sustainable. As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, the role contributes to the development and helping with the execution of cloud strategy, and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's IT and business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology or a relevant degree

  • Master's degree/MBA or Master’s degree preferred

  • Ten (10) years or more SDLC, infrastructure and operations experience

  • Five (5) years or more experience in Technology and solution architecture

  • Three (3) years or more experience working with and developing enterprise architecture deliverables technology roadmaps, reference architectures, platform standards and technology strategies

  • Three (3) years or more experience with architecting solutions involving one or more cloud service providers Microsoft Azure, AWS

  • Two (2) years or more experience architecting public, private and hybrid cloud solutions across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS cloud providers

  • Experience in architect, design, development of enterprise applications nd systems

  • Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and apply abstract enterprise and technical architecture concepts

  • Experience creating and maintaining architecture artifacts for infrastructure related technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and apply abstract enterprise and technical architecture concepts

  • Responsible for ensuring that the company’s IT decisions are made in alignment with the company’s tactical and strategic goals and direction

  • Keep abreast of technology advances (technical scouting) and concerns across all enterprise domains and make recommendations on improvements to the organization’s technical capabilities and technical debt

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and influencing skills with ability to effectively work at all levels of the organization; strong verbal/communication skills and presentation abilities

  • Excellent facilitating talent and able to drive consensus involving technical and non-technical resources at varied levels experience and management

  • Ryder business knowledge / practices / processes preferred (intermediate level)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the road mapping and evolution of enterprise cloud strategy. Lead and facilitate the creation of cloud governing principles and practices

  • Provide best practices of designing, configuring, and maintaining Cloud environment by working side by side with operational product teams

  • Analyzing application portfolios, application rationalization identifying dependencies & common infrastructure platform components, and assessing cloud migration feasibility

  • Work with other technology teams to analyze Cloud adoption risk implications, both Cyber and Operational Technology risks

  • Research and Identifiy leading Cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, BPaaS) to provide guidance and make recommendations based on a capabilities assessment

  • Facilitate POCs for cloud hosted solutions and feasibility studies to validate next-gen product concepts and technologies leveraging results to guide business and technology decisions

  • Develop cloud migration decision frameworks. Oversee the documentation of all cloud architecture design and analysis work

  • Drive selection of appropriate tools

  • Educate business and IT professionals. Communicate the value of the enterprise cloud strategy

  • Enabling and facilitating Proof of Concepts

  • Perform other duties as assigned
