Ryder System Continuous Improvement Central Support Manager in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Continuous Improvement Central Support Manager position supports the deployment of Business Improvement processes for designated areas through the implementation of recognized quality management standards, continuous improvement strategies and demonstrated best practices.


  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred

  • Four (4) years or more experience in process or operations management

  • Four (4) years or more experience in planning and executing DMAIC Six Sigma projects and Lean - Kaizen events

  • Three (3) years or more experience in mentoring lean/Six sigma specialist preferred

  • Strong Research, mathematical modeling and forecasting skills

  • Strong organization, prioritization and planning skills

  • Ability to:

  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Manage multiple projects to timeliness

  • Work cross functionally in order to achieve desired results

  • Work independently and as a member of a team

  • Develops and delivers effective presentations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up practices

  • Understanding of relational database; intermediate level

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Sensei Certification


  • Support the process that identifies and implements significant Continuous Improvement opportunities to improve Central Support processes and delivery

  • Identify and Drive opportunities for RPA (Robotics Process Automation) on leaned processes to drive further operational improvements and cost savings

  • Act as liaison between Finance and IT for the purpose of assisting in driving technology improvement projects

  • Support Continuous Improvement programs, establishing and maintaining high quality assurance standards, procedures and controls. Support Continuous Improvement deployment using fundamentals of Lean and Six Sigma. Track Continuous Improvement status, cost savings, training, certification and events by project or account

  • Support lean office and implement lean principles

  • Plan, lead and facilitate Kaizen and Six Sigma teams

  • Complete event planning, perform pre-work, facilitate teams and support event closure and follow up

  • Develop standards of performance based on process innovation and best-in-class practices

  • Supports the preparation, development and publishing of continuous Improvement materials to include detailed process documentation, process maps and training (webinar) materials

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Document procedures to implement process changes

  • Provide guidance and technical knowledge on process and Continuous Improvement projects

  • Educate, coach, mentor and qualify Lean/Six Sigma specialist

  • Review and report on performance against operational objectives and project success factor

  • Ensure the integrity of performance systems and reports
