Ryder System Construction Project Manager in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Construction Project Manager position oversees management of Regional FMS construction & growth projects for Ryder including planning process, budgets and standards implementation.


  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business or Finance

  • Five (5) years or more professional experience in Construction Management

  • Project management skills

  • Responsible for the day to day management of various real estate facility construction projects including renovations, groundup, growth expansions, and asset preservation. Duties include full-scope construction project management for more than 20 projects, and $20-$30M in project costs from start to finish including project scoping, design, budgeting, permitting, executing formal bidding, contractor review and selection, construction coordination and project closeouts


  • Budget monitoring and job cost reporting

  • Detailed reviews of construction documents, preparation of bid packages, conduct scope reviews with all design consultants and contractors, prepare and award contracts

  • Change order management

  • Comprehensive review and tracking of payment applications and certificates of payments requests made by General Contractors and Design Consultants

  • Responsible for creating project budgets and partial preparation of RCE package

  • Maintain upkeep of project budgets turned in weekly for review

  • Deliver projects at or under budget

  • Organizing & leading the project team by implementing project controls and corporate standards

  • Weekly updating of project status report


  • Create project timelines and schedules with input from design consultants and contractor

  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with contractors and extended project team

  • Deliver projects on time


  • Ensure Ryder Facility design and branding standards are incorporated for all the construction projects

  • Ensure legal, financial, design documentation is complete and project files are archived

  • Conduct comprehensive punch out meeting at the conclusion of all projects with detailed photo report

  • Turnover all project related warranties/manuals (close-out documents) to Operations

  • Perform other duties as assigned
