Class A Drivers

We're hiring CLASS A DRIVERS to support multiple customer accounts throughout the country. This team will bounce around to assignments throughout the country to support different customer accounts. Each assignment can be different from the last. We do offer local work when you are on your home time!!

  • Great Hourly Earnings $25.00+OT!! Will Include Daily Per Diem of $50!!!

  • Stability: IF YOU HAVE FLEXIBILITY AND ARE INTERESTED IN TRAVELING: • Most travel assignments last anywhere between 3 weeks to a month (we provide you with the specific details on each one) • Most assignments allow for you to be home weekly or daily, depending on the customer needs and assignment • Type of Delivery: varies with the customer with each assignment • Ability to layover 1-2 times a week is a major advantage • TRAVEL EXPENSES PAID OR REIMBURSED DEPENDING ON ACCOUNT ASSIGNED-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Must be a minimum of 22 years of age

  • Valid Class A CDL license

  • A minimum of 12 months verifiable Tractor Trailer driving exp. within the last 3 years (see below)

  • Safety is a priority at Ryder! Qualified candidates cannot have more than a combination of 2 tickets/accidents in the last two years.

  • Ability to meet Ryder's driving qualifications

  • Drug testing & background check is a condition of employment.

Please note: In order to be considered for employment with Ryder as a Class A Driver -- you must meet one of the experience levels listed below. This experience must be verifiable & the driving experience must be in a Tractor Trailer, Combination Unit

  • 12 months experience within the past 3 years, OR

  • 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR

  • 5 years' experience within the last 10 years

Requirements

  • Minimum 22 years of age

  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test

  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

  • Pass a DOT physical

  • Pass a Ryder road test

  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position

  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:

  • 12 months experience within the past 3 years, OR

  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR

  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years

  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions

  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.

Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines

  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs

  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer

  • Other tasks as assigned
