Applications Support Manager will supervise and lead a team of engineers that will be responsible for the stability, accessibility and performance of production application environments which support Transportation Management operations.

Manage, support, and train staff to ensure they can work inside their boundaries to complete their jobs effectively
Lead application delivery leads in the support of production applications.Oversight of level 3 incident resolutions, performance monitoring, and continuous feedback loop with the focus on obtaining application environment stability, reliability and efficiency
Collect and report metrics to senior management on application environment status
Think innovatively to improve customer’s application experience through automation, process improvement, and service
Understand project and customer support needs to develop resource forecasting
Provide end-user application installation, configuration, support and trouble shooting.Work as part of the IT staff to ensure end-users have and are able to utilize the IT infrastructure as it pertains to their specific daily job duties as well as assist with the network upgrades.
Proactively learn new technologies to support applications as they become part of the Ryder portfolio
Work closely with Project and Team Managers to provide status and other required information
Work directly with software development to assist in the creation and maintenance of information systems infrastructure and data integration supporting all aspects of daily business operations.
Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics and computer science or business required
Four (4) years or morein IT, preferably in transportation and/or logistics required
Four (4) years or more in remote technical support preferred
Five (5) years or more in transportation management applications, preferably with JDA preferred
Five (5) years or more in leaders managing resources required
Analytical/technical ability and problem solving/troubleshooting skills
Strong oral, written, and coaching communications skills
Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors) to produce high quality work with minimal supervision
Quickly learn new applications and new technologies
Ability to effectively and clearly communicate to the end-user community, tailoring the communication style/method to the specific need, and be able to discuss technical solutions in a non-technical manner
Organization skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively
Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices
Lean background in quality management
Root Cause analysis
Linux and Unix knowledge/experience
Performance Monitoring and analysis
Transportation Management Systems
Microsoft SQL and Oracle SQL to create, select, execute and delete statements
