Ryder System Field Finance Manager in GEORGETOWN, Kentucky

Position Description

The Field Finance Manager is responsible for managing all of the finance and accounting support functions for a major field operation, including inventory management and control, financial analysis and planning, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing.

Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.



  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this position

  • A minimum of 3 (three) years of experience managing these combined functions (finance and accounting support functions to include inventory management and control, financial analysis and planning, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing)


  • MBA, MS in Accounting or CPA is preferred

  • Candidates must also have a working understanding of the supply chain management and logistics process

  • 6-8 years finance/business experience preferred

  • Financial management experience in the Automotive industry is strongly desired

  • Preferred capabilities include proven customer service focus, leadership, and computer/spreadsheet skills

  • Ideal candidate will be analytical and skillful at problem solving

  • He/She will be self-motivated and have good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects

  • This person must have good communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact with and influence senior level personnel both internal as well as external


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support operations and Field Finance Directors on monthly financial close process

  • Review of P and Ls and Walker System to ensure appropriate accounting at the location level

  • Analysis of monthly and YTD operations performance with Operations personnel to explain variances of actual results to expected results (plan and/or forecast)

  • Oversee or conduct daily accounting functions like invoicing, journal voucher generation, posting, accruals, etc.

  • Act as a liaison between filed operations and corporate financial functions

  • Completion of requests for capital expenditures

  • Review of contracts with vendors, service providers and customers

  • Participation in the development of Pricing for new and/or incremental business

  • Support the Operations Team and Field Finance Directors in recurring financial reporting to include forecasting and business plan development

  • Conduct periodic audits of operations to ensure that Ryder's control processes are being followed at the operations

  • Train onsite operations personnel in the use of Ryder's financial systems and various reports

  • Work closely with DCL and GLM to review operations on special projects or continuous improvement process
