Ryder System Lean Specialist in FORT WORTH, Texas

Position Description

The Lean Deployment Specialist will ensure a consistent, rapid and successful deployment of Lean at all assigned accounts, train employees on Lean transformational processes, develop continuous improvement plans addressing critical site needs, and identify opportunities for improvement with value stream maps.


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • Minimum of three (3) years process or operation management experience


  • TQM, Lean and/or Six Sigma, value stream mapping, mixed model flow/pull and other process improvement experience

  • Ability to learn new concepts, interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate and motivate teams

  • System and change implementation skills; communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office including Project, SPC, Excel, Internal Audit/Corrective Action Systems Software (e.g. JKT), Minitab, and Outlook preferred


  • Provide support and guidance on small CI/Lean projects using lean and process control techniques to identify and provide improvements

  • Complete event planning, perform pre-work, facilitate teams and support events (includes startup, expansion, and closure)

  • Support in the development of Lean shop floor experts, to become capable of driving Lean in their areas; Coach and mentor others on Lean so it becomes engrained in the site culture

  • Lead Kaizen events, Lean projects and other activities that execute the site Lean transformational improvement plan

  • Support in the implementation of MDI and RCCM processes and provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against site objectives

  • Work with site leadership to update and re-prioritize the plan to maintain focus on the most critical site objectives

  • Support multi-location Lean implementations

  • Work on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

  • Demonstrate good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

  • Regularly interact with senior management and/or customer
