As part of the Ryder team the Group Director, Continuous Improvement will handle a variety of tasks.


Oversees continuous improvement programs including Lean Six Sigma, Lean Enterprise and Kaizen.

Develops, deploys and maintains a quality plan for assigned process areas designed to continually improve service offerings through the implementation of recognized quality management standards, quality improvement strategies and demonstrated best practices.

Interfaces with senior level management to establish standard quality communications and action oriented forums (reviewing /analyzing quality performance, deploy policies and strategies, share best practices).

Establishes key performance indicators and ensures effective and closed-loop corrective and preventive action systems are implemented.

Aligns quality initiatives and project objectives to business strategy and prioritizes projects accordingly.

Includes key stakeholders in process as required.

Coaches and provides support to key leaders to assure understanding and acceptance of continuous improvements processes.


Performs other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree business/engineering/logistics or equivalent program.

Master's degree business/engineering/logistics or equivalent program preferred.


Ten (10) years or more experience of quality, process or operations management experience

Seven (7) years or more experience supervisory experience

Ten (10) years or more experience quality assurance or CI project experience

Seven (7) years or more experience teaching, mentoring teams and working with Six Sigma Academies

Ten (10) years or more experience value stream management experience

Seven (7) years or more experience TQM, Six Sigma, Mixed Model Flow/Pull and other process improvement experience

Warehouse operations and processes experience required

Warehouse automation, analytics, optimization and digitalization experience required


Demonstrated system and change implementation skills, process management, Total Work Systems (TQM) (preferred)

Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to facilitate and motivate teams

Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills.

Ability to guide, engage, and impart knowledge to others.


MS Word ; advanced level.

Lotus Notes; intermediate level; preferred.


Other Master Lean Sensei Certification (None, required).

Other Master Black Belt (None, required).
