The purpose of the Helper position is to assist drivers, accurately transfer product, both physically and logically, into and/or out of the warehouses, load/unload trucks, move product throughout the facility manually while providing excellent customer service.
Read, interpret, and apply Bills of Lading and assembly instructions
Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer
Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered
Stage orders according to location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location
Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process
Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures
Performs housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned
May operate stair-climbing equipment, pallet jack, or lift gate
Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
Light assembly of technical equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
Basic installation skills
Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and walk in high traffic areas
Work overtime as assigned
H.S. diploma/GED preferred or equivalent
One (1) year or more inside delivery required
