Ryder System Customer Logistics Supervisor in EVANSVILLE, Indiana

Position Description

This position supervises Driver Relations ensuring that all processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner. Operates as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues and continuously look for improvements in operational processes and designs, implementing those initiatives. Optimizes the contribution of the team through coaching, counseling and implement workable solutions to business issues/problems with minimum referral to management. Conduct work planning, estimation and prioritization to optimize performance of team and work with the domicile to define standards and reusable approaches for Driver Retention operations. Manage effective internal/external client relationships within own area of responsibility and build client relationships in the wider group or unit. Responsibilities:

Employee Relations and Driver Retention

40%

Ensure compliance with all DOT and corporate guidelines

20%

Respond to employee questions, concerns and grievances

10%

Supporting the delivery of on-boarding, training and orientating of drivers and non-driver personnel

Reviewing of exit interview and turnover data with location management

10%

Work closely with management and HR Managers/Directors on continuous improvements to optimize business processes

  • Participate in the interview process for new hires into driver roles

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Experience with DOT, OSHA, and all related safety regulations required

  • Minimum of 6 (six) months supervisory experience required

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 Years of experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Preferred

  • Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment, (i.e.: Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch preferred.)

  • Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems preferred
