Ryder is hiring a Customer Service Manager in Elwood, IL!

The Customer Service Manager will manage service center operations while providing leadership to our customer service representatives. You will provide administrative, project management, coaching, training and mentoring support to our CSRs. This position reports directly to the Facility Manager and will perform other duties as assigned.

About the position:

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

  • Will need to be open at month end to work extra hours

  • Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree and/or equivalent experience is required

  • 3-5 years of previous Customer Service Warehouse management experience is required

  • 3-5 years 3PL - knowledge

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must possess intermediate level experience with MS Office (i.e.: Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • 3PL background or Warehouse Management System experience is a plus

  • Prior working knowledge of customer relationship management software programs (Synapse preferred)

  • Ability to multi-task & prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Other requirements: Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug test

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Three (3) years or more customer service experience within a warehouse

  • Three (3) years or more experience as a Supervisor or Lead

  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills

  • Ability to effectively solve problems and challenges that satisfy customers

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel, Windows, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) (intermediate level)

  • SAP and Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge (intermediate level) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned personnel and ensure CS tasks and functions are completed to maintain customer satisfaction

  • Interacts with customers and contractors, answering questions regarding shipment times, product cuts, loads not picked up by the carrier, and damage claims, problem solving

  • Conduct accuracy/quality reviews of CS processes to ensure that quality is being maintained

  • Assist with training employees in processes when necessary

  • Ensure that any escalated issues are handled either personally or brought to the attention of manager for resolution

  • Perform and support all job requirements as directed by supervisor and/or manager, assist with daily CS tasks

  • Perform other duties as assigned
