Summary

The Sales Talent Program Manager will have two primary functions. Initially, the Manager will be responsible for the design, development and successful implementation of two key initiatives: The Ryder Sales University Program and the sales methodology program in conjunction with two external consultants and internal Ryder resources. In addition to validation of sales process, sales skills content, account data, and performance recommendations, the successful implementation of this initiative requires daily management and communication with the Sales Team, Marketing team, consultant, and the Learning & Development Teams regarding the status of the program.

Once these implementations are complete, the second primary function of this position is designed to execute and administer the Ryder Sales University. The position executives talent strategy and initiatives in collaboration with the Sales Leadership, HR Business Partners and Talent Management Community of Expertise to enhance the effectiveness of the sales talent and enable the SCS/DTS organization to achieve it's financial goals. The position will require consistent innovation and influence in order to anticipate coaching needs for sales team. The Ryder Sales University program is designed to manage performance of our overall sales team by providing continuing education and enhance our team to ensure they are armed with the strongest skillset to be successful in their role. This will include individualized learning coaching and learning paths.

Essential Functions

  • Achieve increased sales productivity through teamwork with sales leadership team and L&D to identify best practices in coaching, performance management, and development plans. Continuous review of active sales performance to identify needs.

  • Work with Executive Sponsors, Key Stakeholders and external consultants to lead the implementation of the two sales projects. This will include managing all aspects of process for both projects: provide tools to analyze, manage, measure, and track against expectations; serve as internal advisor on project through coordination with external consultants and business partners.

  • Manage Ryder Sales University coaching program while actively coaching some individuals and managing other coaches to develop, retain and maximize the contributions of the sales team.

Skills and Abilities

  • Project management skillsAbility to organize, plan and execute large scale projects from vision to implementation

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to influence internal and/or external constituentsAbility to influence others without authority across varying levels in the organization

  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • MS Excel ability to work with formulas and data required, MS Access knowledge is preferred

  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Project management certification (preferred)

  • Strong sales process knowledge with hands-on experience in defining business requirements and translating them into pragmatic solutions advanced required

  • Knowledge and experience with Excel and all other MS Programs intermediate required

  • Knowledge of SAM, FIS, RIDE and Excel intermediate required

  • Deep knowledge and expertise of coaching theory with emphasis on sales talent intermediate preferred

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required Business, or related industry experience

  • Five (5) years or more Experience and knowledge of Supply Chain and Dedicated Sales required

  • Five (5) years or more Experience in Sales or industry related experience required required

  • Five (5) years or more Experience in Human Resources preferred

  • Five (5) years or more Project Management or Sales Management role preferred

  • Strong sales process knowledge with hands-on experience in defining business requirements and translating them into pragmatic solutions advanced required

  • Knowledge and experience with Excel and all other MS Programs intermediate required

  • Knowledge of SAM, FIS, RIDE and Excel intermediate required

  • Deep knowledge and expertise of coaching theory with emphasis on sales talent intermediate preferred
