Ryder System Inventory Clerk in Bridgeport, Michigan

Position Description

Under general supervision, as the Inventory Clerk you will be responsible for detailed clerical work involving the taking and maintaining of inventories of supplies and equipment. As the Inventory Clerk, you must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to multitask. This position requires you to be detail-oriented, focused and to strive for success under minimal supervision. You will carry out special projects upon request, administer top-notch customer service to internal and external business partners and aid in the process of internal and external audits, as requested. Other essential duties will include counting, classifying, and maintaining an expansive inventory of items, carrying out data entry and acknowledging discrepancies in documentation, along with preparing inventory records and reports.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent One year of clerical or warehouse experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written methods Strong customer service skills are required

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Knowledge of WMS preferred

  • Experience operating forklift equipment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates activities with clerks from other floor areas, the customer and/or other suppliers as needed

  • Using the location's WMS system updates area or shift metrics as needed

  • Generates daily, weekly or monthly reports, memos, and summaries often of a technical and/or confidential nature

  • Floor work and additional duties as assigned

  • Performs basic administrative tasks for area or shift

  • Maintains filing systems and documents

  • Gathers from and provides information to floor employees in his/her area of support

  • Coordinates activities / meetings / communication for the specific area or shift
