Ryder System Customer Logistics Manager - Last Mile in AVON, Massachusetts

Position Description

We are looking for a passionate and driven Customer Logistics Manager - Last Mile (CLM) to support the Group Logistics Manager with achieving the overall performance goals of a multi-client white glove home delivery distribution center.

*Must be available to work weekends*

The CLM will spend most of their time in the warehouse maximizing the performance of the site. This includes:

  • enforcing company safety standards

  • ensure accuracy and control of client inventory

  • assist with the development of associates through performance management process

  • plan and schedule distribution services

  • direct activities related to dispatching, routing and tracking transportation

  • support an environment that fosters open and positive team communication

  • build a strong rapport with our vendors and clients

Experience:

  • Previous management experience a plus

  • Experience with cross-dock operations a plus

  • Routing and dispatching experience a plus

Requirements

  • Associates degree or 4 years of related experience is required

  • Advanced Level Skills in MS Excel such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and text

  • Minimum 1 (one) year of supervisory experience required

  • Experience with ground transportation operations including DOT, OSHA and all related safety regulations

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Three to five years experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse or industry related field is preferred

  • Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment (i.e., Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch preferred)

  • Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems preferred

  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills preferred
