The Solution Delivery Principal will provide leadership and strategic support to the Application Development and Support, Solution Delivery and Support, and to the vertical/business unit IT Director. This position is responsible for making technology recommendations, and communicating and maintaining strategy momentum for the vertical/business unit. The successful candidate is considered an expert in Supply Chain Logistics, specifically transportation management and distribution management technologies. In the absence of an IT Manager or Director will provide guidance to IT development, delivery, and support resources across the vertical/business unit. This position may be called upon to provide a level of project management for single or multiple strategic projects and/or perform a vendor management role with internal and external service providers.
Identify solution gaps in Ryder’s portfolio as it pertains to business unit and/or vertical and work with IT functional groups to strategically address gaps; including but not limited to: maintaining the technology inventory for the vertical/business unit, co-ordinating with solution architects, technology account leads, and/or functional development teams to draft strategy to address risk associated with the technology portfolio and/or technology gaps, building business/financial support to achieve strategic program objectives, and supporting annual capital planning for the vertical including business case development
Implement continuous program to improve IT accountability to business partners and to increase responsiveness to service demands; including but not limited to establishing, negotiating with provider, and tracking Service Level Agreements for internal and external service partners, identifying and implementing processes to ensure financial accountability, monitoring and facilitating oversight of IT financial performance for the vertical, supporting annual business budget development and justification, working closely with Finance to audit IT charges to the vertical, monitoring and managing weekly and monthly labour charges to the vertical/business unit
Developing Request for Capital (RCE’s) and Minor Enhancement (ME) business case, financial case, and presentation. Presenting RCE’s for approval through all levels of the organization. Position is responsible to facilitate a solid warm hand-off of design, assumptions, cost, and business case to the PMO for execution
Keep current on technology, market, and competitive research to identify broad business trends and assumptions that may affect business and/or IT strategy and service delivery options, thereby providing assistance to IT Vertical Director and the Business with identifying and developing new product service offerings
Maintains and communicates portfolio total cost of ownership by product

Skills and Abilities
Ability to manage a continuous improvement program including socializing progress and successes
Ability to collect information, detect patterns, brainstorm, interpret data, integrate new information, and theorize to problem solve and make decisions
Strong documentation skills as it relates to business and financial case justification
Candidate must possess strong client facing skills and understand the mechanisms for building strong, long-lasting internal and external customer relationships, including the ability to generate results through influence
Ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently, set priorities and adapt to changing requirements and work conditions
Possess a high degree of initiative
Bachelor's degree required in IT management, supply chain management, computer science, engineering, accounting, or finance.
Five (5) years or more IT vendor management experience required
Five (5) years or more Strategic planning experience required
Five (5) years or more Transportation Management and/or Distribution Management Technology required
Five (5) years or more Industry/vertical experience preferred
Two (2) years or more Supply Chain Management, experience with 3PL/4PL preferred
Three (3) years or more IT Finance including exposure to SOP98 required
