Ryder System Specialist II SSC-Fixed Asset in ALPHARETTA, Georgia

Position Description

The Fixed Asset Reporting Specialist II position collaborates with a variety of Ryder's Management and Operational teams to provide accounting support for Ryder's Fixed Assets. As the subject matter expert, this position is responsible for Ryder’s Fixed Asset accounting, as well as completing assigned account reconciliations, reporting, and assigned month-end tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred

  • Four (4) years or more related fixed asset experience if highest education is H.S. diploma or Three (3) years or more related fixed asset experience if highest education is Associate's Degree or Two (2) years or more related fixed asset experience if highest education is Bachelor's Degree

  • Possess strong technical aptitude. Requires full use and application of relevant principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

  • Demonstrate a high commitment to quality. Must have decision quality, approachability, composure, and creativity

  • Ability to:

Responsibilities

  • Identify and uses analytical techniques to gather, assess, and evaluate purchases to determine if the asset qualifies as a capital expenditure

  • Performs complex level analysis and problem solving to assist in the development of business processes, products and services for capitalizing and/or depreciation of fixed assets

  • As the subject matter expert, research and respond to questions regarding Financial Reporting data and/or processes performed

  • Responsible for preparation of assigned account reconciliations

  • Prepare status updates and reports for management, which may include user manuals/documentation

  • Conducts audits/quality control and communicates applicable best practices/policies

  • Performs data processing of financial information related to fixed assets

  • Maintain Ryder’s Fixed Asset records

  • Perform data entry related to assigned responsibilities, including journal voucher entry support

  • Ability to timely and accurately accomplish all daily and monthly deadlines

  • Lend support to peers and/or all levels of management as needed

  • Performs other duties as assigned
