Ryder System National Inside Account Manager in ALPHARETTA, Georgia

Position Description

The National Inside Account Manager (NIAM) will be responsible for daily client interaction with approximately 200-225 Ryder National Account locations. The NIAM will serve as the primary point of contact for the management of these locations. Their responsibility will be to ensure that the local field operations and rental teams deliver customer support services according to the service level agreement (SLA) and exceed the National Account’s overall expectations. The NIAM will follow the guidance of, and work within the parameters set forth by, the assigned Director of National Accounts (DNA). Responsible to maintain branch-level customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction as it pertains to all facets of the business: operations, rental, and sales.

Under the direction of the DNA, the NIAM will provide customer support, seek and coordinate issue resolution, obtain necessary resources at the local Ryder branch and National levels, and ensure prompt and effective handling of stated customer concerns. They will also be responsible to probing for and identifying opportunities to sell Ryder products and services within assigned locations, and cultivate new opportunities for business growth.


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent experience required

  • Three (3) years or more experience in successful Account Management or Customer Service

  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism. Demonstrated sales aptitude, assertiveness, persistence and self-motivation

  • Transportation and logistics industry knowledge helpful, but not required (intermediate level) preferred

  • Proficiency in CRM - Salesforce.com (advanced level) preferred


  • Establish ongoing rapport and manage approximately 200-225 assigned small Ryder National Account locations to ensure customer satisfaction and retention

  • Provide customer service functions and resolve customer issues by identifying problems and coordinating resources

  • Document detailed notes related to account activities in Salesforce.com related to customer's needs and concerns

  • Educate the customer and promote ancillary Ryder products/services such as RydeSmart, insurance coverage, fuel services, or other new services as they become available

  • Utilize the customer term-out report to prioritize business growth efforts
