Ryder System Fuel Specialist Associate II in ALPHARETTA, Georgia

Position Description

The Fuel Specialist Associate II will contact customers for missing fuel documentation, set up fuel exception and bulk fuel accounts, correct fuel tickets in fuel exception queue that have missing information.


  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required

  • Minimum of 2 (two) years of previous work experience

  • Intermediate level skills with MS Excel such as freezing/unfreezing panes, hiding/unhiding data, setting print titles & page breaks, linking workbooks, creating external links, re-directing links, customizing toolbars & menus, protecting a worksheet, filtering options, and chart formatting options

  • Intermediate level skills with MS Word such as including styles, mail merge, tabs, tables, columns and breaks, graphics, fields, headers and footers, working with margins, page orientation, and spelling/grammar

  • Beginner level skills with MS Access such as using queries to display related information from two or more tables, construct selection criteria to extract specific records from tables and queries, and creating and utilizing pivot tables and charts based on query information


  • High school diploma plus occupational specific training

  • (Business school, computer training, junior college classes, etc) preferred

  • Customer service, excellent verbal and written skills, problem solving and attention to detail

  • The ability to interpret data in situations where the information or problems are not overly complex

  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • The ability to make decisions in absence of formal guidance or guidelines, and/or interpret guidelines for proper application


  • Research for missing or information on fuel documents and annotate image

  • Contact customers to request missing fuel documents Set up vendor id's for bulk fuel customer sites

  • Contact and educate customers who have specialized fuel

  • Edit correspondence/brief reports and proof read for errors, explain technical procedures to employees, or enforce policies and regulations in difficult situations
