Ryder System Financial Reporting Specialist II in ALPHARETTA, Georgia

Position Description

The Financial Reporting Specialist II collaborates with a variety of Ryder's Management and Operational teams to support Ryder's Financial Reporting needs. This position is responsible for completing assigned account reconciliations and reporting, as well as completion of assigned month end tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and four (4) years of related business experience in accounting or finance

  • Associate's degree and three (3) years of work experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience preferred

  • Four (4) years or more of experience working in accounting or finance, if highest education is a high school diploma

  • Three (3) years or more of related experience, if highest education is Associate's Degree preferred

  • Two (2) years or more of related experience, if highest education is Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Strong technical aptitude; requires full use and application of relevant principles, theories, concepts and techniques; functional/technical skills

  • Demonstrated high commitment to quality; must have decision quality, approachability, composure and creativity

  • Ability to:

  • Understand various Accounting processes, specifically, preparation of account reconciliations and use of journal vouchers (advanced level)

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and uses analytical techniques to gather, assess and evaluate data; analysis includes quantitative and qualitative results

  • Performs complex level analysis and problem solving to assist in the development of business processes, products and services

  • Prepares status updates and reports for management, which may include user manuals/documentation

  • Typically operates as part of a team

  • Performs data processing of financial information

  • Researches and responds to questions regarding Financial Reporting data and/or processes performed

  • Functions as a Subject Matter Expert to assigned projects/areas

  • Lends support to peers and/or all levels of management as needed

  • Is responsible for preparation of assigned account reconciliations

  • Performs data entry related to assigned responsibilities, including journal voucher entry support

  • Timely and accurately accomplishes all daily and monthly deadlines

  • Performs other duties as needed
