Position Description:

The Field Quality and Maintenance Manager (FQMM) provides maintenance support functions within assigned areas. This position will ensure timely and efficient maintenance support and problem resolution using the Continuous Improvement (CI) process and providing sustainment plans at the direction of the Director of Quality and Maintenance Programs.




  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required

  • 8-10 years progressive maintenance/operations experience required


  • Excellent people, communication skills and Change Management skills

  • Strong leadership skills Strong analytical and statistical skills

  • Strong financial, business and computer skills Extensive experience in all phases of maintenance and vehicle types

  • Ability to think strategically Greenbelt Certification preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of FMS operations programs (SMO, Infocenter, and FIS)


  • Responsible for monitoring preventive maintenance processes and identifying opportunities for improvement and determine possible solutions/actions to address any identified deficiencies

  • Identifying and communicating opportunities for CI Implementation

  • Support and lead continuous improvement activities including, Kaizen events resulting in the improvement of processes and procedures that support operational and strategic initiatives

  • Support the effective execution of internal and external roadside assistance processes

  • Support the proper utilization of the Technical Assistance Center to help control costs and improve customer satisfaction

  • Communicate development opportunities to Shop Management Online and automated planning system usage and compliance

  • Support the Critical Failure process as requested by the DQM, determine root cause of failures, and implements corrective actions to lower maintenance costs and improve customer satisfaction

  • Ensure all field maintenance processes are compliant with Company, Federal, EPA, and Safety regulations

  • Responsible for reviewing and assessing findings from the Quality Assurance audits as related to FMS products and services within their assigned geographic area

  • Provides guidance and technical knowledge on process execution and compliance to the FMS organization

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance team to identify trends and process compliance

  • Track continuous improvement status, cost savings, training, certifications, and events by projects/location

  • Support maintenance engineering and specification requests from field operations and customers as directed by the DQM
