Ryder System Maintenance Manager - Distribution Center in Plainfield, Indiana
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the Maintenance teams at two facilities. In addition, the Manager will be responsible for the leadership of direct reports of a small crew of Material handlers and General Warehouse employees.
Additional responsibilities include:
Operation and completion of Preventative Maintenance program, to include - Experience with carton erectors. (combi and lantech machines), working with automated conveyor, electrical systems, and one step poly bag machines.
Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical problems within a multi building operation.
Ensure OSHA compliance with required training to include Lock-out and Tag out Program.
Experience working with:
Pick-2-light and pick-to-voice automated systems.
Hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical troubleshooting including electrical installation of 110V, 220V, and 480V.
HVAC (heating and cooling)
Industrial plumbing repairs. Experience in Tig, brazing, and Mig welding.
Provide price quotes on mechanical parts, order parts, and keep enough on hand supplies and parts for both operation as well as housekeeping functions.
Ability to multi-task as well as staying focused on task at hand. Ability to manage employees on a 24 hour operation including potential schedule changes to accommodate employee concerns and business needs.
Degree in Business Management or Industrial Maintenance a Requirements:
Associates degree or 4 years of related experience is required
Advanced Level Skills in MS Excel such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and text
Minimum 1 (one) year of supervisory experience required
Experience with ground transportation operations including DOT, OSHA and all related safety regulations
Bachelor's degree preferred
Three to five years experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse or industry related field is preferred
Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment (i.e., Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch preferred)
Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems preferred
Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills preferred
Attainment of productivity goals resolving customer issues
Quality Assurance Safety Management and reporting New Employee training
Employee relations solutions Individual will be working in a dynamic environment focusing on delivery of continuous measurable improvement to the customer
