Position Description:

The Sr. Director, IT Business Partnership is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of Global Supply Chain Solutions (GSCS) IT to internal business partners in support of external client needs in concert with the overall business and IT strategy, and serves as a liaison between GSCS IT and the GSCS business verticals. This individual is considered an expert in their field and, in the absence of the Group Director, will provide guidance to other IT Directors across business verticals. The Sr. Director has direct reporting relationship within IT to the Group Director, Partner Relations, but works closely with the SVP, VP, or GM of the GSCS business verticals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, engineering or related field

  • Master's degree in computer science, business, engineering or related field preferred

  • Six (6) years or more of experience in vertical specific (retail, consumer goods, automotive, healthcare, or technology)

  • Eight (8) years or more of experience in logistics or supply chain

  • Ten (10) years or more of experience in:

  • Management

  • Project management

  • Experience in the sales process: RFx, bid response, cost model preparation, client presentation, and launch

  • Experience with, and deep understanding of, related complex business processes

  • Demonstrated executive level competencies; specifically leadership, communication, partnerships, process and change management into complex/matrix environments, and teamwork

  • Strong business acumen: understands key financial drivers and dynamics related to growth and revenue goals of an organization

  • Demonstrated ability to challenge, convince, and manage stakeholdersDemonstrated experience in project management of large and complex solutions

  • Capability for multi-tasking and highly organized, with excellent time management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong financial skills and demonstrated experience with RCE process from idea to completed execution

  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization

  • Commands executive presence

  • Create and Manage Fiscal Budgets, Request for Capital Expense; expert level

  • Project management skills (expert level)

  • Knowledge of vertical industry: retail, consumer goods, automotive, technology, and healthcare (expert level)

  • Supply Chain technology applications: TM, DM, integration, demand planning, etc. (expert level)

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of IT specialist in support of the business vertical: oversees and and prioritizes workload regarding launches, change requests, and other work items

  • Drives new business initiative analysis and overall project prioritization within the investment portfolio; oversees launch activity ensuring timeliness, fiscal responsibility, and quality; and provides management/oversight for large, complex projects where workload is not balanced over the vertical markets

  • Provides direct support and is responsible for landing new clients, helping to increase revenue and profit by engineering the appropriate solution, facilitating the preparation of the cost estimates/RFX responses, and presenting the IT portion of the Ryder response

  • Collaborates with business partner senior leadership to identify strategic and innovative uses of technology to drive business growth and profitability; acts as an advisor to the verticals on ways to exploit technology for competitive advantage

  • Strengthens alignment between business partners and IT to ensure IT is seen as a true partner to the business; improves accountability of the IT function to our business partners, increase responsiveness of IT to service demands

  • Decreases IT cost of delivery and raise quality for new client launches and existing client relationship

  • Develops and monitors the approved annual operation and capital budgets for the IT solutions and projects supporting their business functions

  • Facilitates and/or participate in special projects as assigned

  • Drives continuous improvement – project methodology, project tracking templates and processes, operational processes, solution designs, etc.

  • Functions as second in command/stand-in for the Group Director, IT Business Partnership

  • Provides guidance and support to Directors

  • Performs other duties as assigned
