Position Description:

The Director, Supply Chain Solutions is responsible for inbound network design and engineering for a large Automotive OEM customer within North America. This includes, but is not limited to, supply chain planning, cost savings generation and operating plan implementation for 40+ manufacturing facilities. They are responsible for the development and maintenance of an innovative and collaborative culture that cultivates world class solutions and motivates a creative and energized team. They will be accountable for the leadership, vision and direction of a team of 50+ team members supporting the network design function for an expansive supply chain across North America. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing the strategic voice of the customer, collaborating across verticals, leading large teams as well as developing high potential team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • A minimum of 5 (five) years leasing/transportation related experience

  • 10 (ten) years product management experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters Degree preferred

  • Excellent facilitation, collaboration, analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for collaborating with the Director, Market Research and Sales Support in the areas detailed below

  • Responsible for applying, and directly influencing, the use of Ryder's database marketing activity and analysis as it relates to the product line

  • Market assessment: General market conditions Competitive environment Market size, market segmentation and profit potential Strategic Product Definition: Define product strategy and Ryder Value Proposition (e.g. what to sell, to whom, how profitable, competitive intensity, Ryder competitive advantage, long term outlook)

  • Develop marketing programs to improve market position and deliver profitable growth through targeted lead generation activity

  • Assess and monitor product line performance on an on-going basis

  • Determine needed product improvements and/or enhancements and develop product extension strategies in response Work with solutions development group to achieve strategy by taking into consideration such points as: Human Resources, Process, Technology, Cost, Other Design considerations, Product deployment strategy

  • Pricing: Collaborate with Finance to ensure the pricing strategy is both competitive and profitable Product Launch: Collaborate with Solutions and Execution Standards Group to deliver solutions to customers appropriately
