Ryder System Manager, Financial Planning in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Financial Manager position will be responsible for planning activities which encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities. The individual selected for this position will interact with all levels of management, ensure timely and accurate reporting and assist with multiple financial projects and initiatives.


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent program, is required; MBA preferred

  • Five to seven (5-7) years of finance or accounting experience

  • Ability to:

  • Interact with and influence senior management

  • Work cross functionally in order to achieve desired results

  • Manage multiple projects/task to timeline

  • Self-starter with the ability to derive innovative solutions with little direction

  • Knowledge of statistical methodology and a strong interest in computer applications for data management preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical, research, mathematical modeling and forecasting skills

  • Strong organization, prioritization and planning skills


  • The financial and analytical support encompasses a broad range of aspects related to the business, including but not limited to: monthly forecast consolidation, including analytical and trend analysis of the business, development of the annual business plan in conjunction with Field Finance and segment leadership, development of RCE's for business initiatives, providing overhead and cost analysis support to the pricing group in support for the continued updates to their pricing models, financial modeling of strategic plans and strategic planning initiatives, Executive Committee and or BOD support, and other financial analysis of initiatives as required by the EVP or Field Finance Directors.

  • Adhoc support for quarterly board meetings and presentations, including preparation of presentations and fact sheets for leadership, BOD and earnings call prep for division president

  • Consolidation, preparation and analysis of financial data to understand cause-and-effect relationships and identify root causes

  • Presentation of analysis and results of operational data and forecasts in written and verbal formats to senior leadership

  • Exercising considerable latitude in the use of appropriate statistical methods in areas that can benefit from statistical analysis

  • Data mining, predictive-modeling, and innovative use of statistical and quantitative knowledge

  • Managing the development and deployment of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics to improve accountability

  • Other duties as assigned
