Position Description:

The Enterprise Agile Coach (EAC) is responsible for defining the domain operating model and cultural components that will drive our agile transformation. The incumbent will determine how to transform each business and technology function/team while taking into consideration the interconnected relationships of each. They use top-down and bottom-up approaches to effect positive change. They adapt as necessary for unintended consequences. The EAC creates the 'tools in the toolbox' and then determines which tools are needed. They build strategies to develop the necessary competencies throughout the organization. The incumbent will develop and support a learning organization model through coaching, training, and mentorship. They enable an agile culture, implement Communities of Practice, provide community engagement opportunities, and offer career development guidance. He/She will have the potential for direct reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, Technology or a relevant degree

  • Master's degree MBA preferred

  • Ten (10) years or more experience in Project Management, Agile Methodologies, Agile Coaching, and Training

  • Eight (8) years or more experience in IT

  • Five (5) years or more experience in Agile Methodologies, Agile Coaching, and Training

  • Five (5) years or more supervisory experience

  • Five (5) years or more experience in organizational change preferred

  • Significant experience in driving cultural change and how to improve operational performance in an efficient/effective manner

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and influencing skills with ability to effectively work at all levels of the organization; strong verbal/communication skills and presentation abilities

  • Team-oriented and social: communicates well with all levels of the organization

  • Able to present information in clear, concise terms to all position levels in the company. Ability to be tactfully persuasive at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to:

Responsibilities:

  • Works with Agile defined teams in order to prepare overall plan for the project, supports product owner in creating user stories, supports team in estimating effort and preparing implementation for user stories, supports Scrum Master project execution

  • Identifies, selects, creates and delivers Ryder specific standards leveraging and adapting (as needed) Agile principles, techniques, and tools. Authority to set direction and drive decisions around the use and implementation of Agile principles throughout the organization

  • Creates and executes the short and long term strategy for rolling out the Agile Methodology within Ryder, Enterprise Wide, including cultural changes required to be successful. Creates all policies and procedures surrounding the Ryder specific approach to Agile

  • Owns and drives organizational change around Agile project initiatives related to Ryder Transformation

  • Facilitates key Agile project coaching, including but not limited to project managers, team members and business leaders on selected tools, ceremonies, and methodologies that have been adjusted to meet Ryder's needs and long term strategic goals set for Agile across the organization

  • Provide Agile Principle Workshops and Train sessions as necessary to develop organizational capabilities and contribute to the necessary cultural change, educating and influencing team members and leaders at all levels of the organization

  • Monitor and report back on progress, focused on critical KPIs and supporting metrics (“health check”). Delivers results and proposes changes/adjustments to leadership team members both within IT and the Business

  • Identifies and defines the capabilities, technical tools, and management systems required for successfully implement the Ryder defined Agile Strategy, including but not limited to systems needed for Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, Change Managements, Integrations, and Project Tracking Systems

  • Conducts Quality Assurance reviews of projects leveraging Agile Methodologies taking place within the business teams

  • Develop executive-level presentations, program updates, set targets, timelines

  • Defines future team structure and needs for approved strategy to be successfully implemented

  • Performs other duties as assigned
