Ryder System Claims Management System Administrator in MIAMI, Florida

Position Description

The Claims Management System Administrator will oversee the installation of all Claims Management (Liability and Worker's comp) systems updates, upgrades, configuration changes, and other software integrated with Ryder’s Claims Management Systems. They will collaborate with Management, End-Users and Information Technology to establish system defaults, policies and procedures, and strategic plans for system use and expansion. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to work within a team and independently, have excellent customer service, possess an ability to learn quickly, and demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot issues (and then apply corrective action to prevent re-occurrence). This position ensures business continuity for Risk Management Activities through System Administration.


  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree in related field: liability, worker's comp, IT preferred

  • Two (2) years or more experience in related work experience with Bachelor's Degree preferred or Five (5) years or more experience of equivalent work experience in lieu of degree in liability, worker's comp, IT

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Technical understanding of Claims Management (Liability and Worker's Comp ) Practices (intermediate level)

  • SQL experience (beginner level)

  • Java Scripting experience (beginner level)


  • Definition, implementation, configuration of Technical Settings, including but not limited to; Log Settings, Performance Settings, Manage Document Stores, Storage Location, Temporary Storage Settings, Audit Reporting, Global Settings, Text Search Settings

  • Execution of User Provisioning, including but not limited to; setting up and managing User Accounts & System Roles

  • Configuration, management, documentation of Advanced System Reporting environment and customer reporting requests

  • System Management pertaining to: Authentication, integration, configuration, and context. System Information: managing registration and performance, and ability to interpret audit logs in order to identify appropriate action

  • System-update management: test Claims Management Systems’ periodic updates during window provided by vendor, make recommendations as to whether Ryder should accept/suppress updates offered by vendor

  • Preparation and / or update of documentation for new or existing systems

  • Create logical data models based on functional requirements

  • Analysis of detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and reliability characteristics

  • Monitoring of system effectiveness in satisfying user needs

  • Guidance and work leadership for less-experienced analysts

  • Level 1 Technical support for system end users

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned

  • Performs other duties as assigned
