Position Description

The Compensation Analyst is the key resource in supporting a broad range of compensation programs for assigned groups. This support includes but is not limited to job evaluation and design, market pricing and compensation benchmarking, analysis and implementation of compensation programs, practices, and policies.

In addition, this position is mainly responsible for the development, implementation, and reporting of the sales incentive compensation plans for Ryder. The Compensation Analyst works with the Sr. Manager of Sales Compensation and the Director of Compensation in designing compensation plans that align sales performance with Ryder’s strategic financial objectives and business goals.


  • Bachelor's degree in in mathematics, finance, accounting, or related field

  • Three (3) years or more experience in compensation design and administration

  • Three (3) years or more experience in sales compensation preferred

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) (Preferred)


  • Supports all phases of the sales compensation design process and implementation, including, but not limited to financial modeling and analysis, review of plan changes, drafting and delivery of sales plan documents. Performs on-going data analysis over complex transactional data from various systems and databases, analyzes the results, assists with audits where appropriate, identifies existing or potential problems based on trends and/or results, and provides resolution to the potential problems. Data analysis is also inclusive of payroll calculations, as needed

  • Ensures timely, accurate, and complete support to all sales compensation activities and inquiries. Support includes research, analysis, solving problems, and other requests. Works with HR to educate/train management on all sales compensation practices, policies, and programs. Composes communications related to employee sales compensation. Conduct sales compensation related studies to include cross-functional collaboration to prepare analysis. Ensures all compensation sales programs are compliant with internal audits and applicable laws and regulations

  • Maintains databases and/or is key in the development of database structures with other functional groups with the goal of supporting the analysis, modeling, and trends related to the sales incentive programs. Connects to and extracts data from various systems and databases; develops, refines, troubleshoots, maintains, and delivers timely and accurate commission reports and analytics to meet client needs and expectations. Supports applications administration; properly stores, manages, and manipulates data; monitors database performance and activity; integrates and organizes disparate data sets. Provides relevant information in a readable, easy to use format, which enables readers to quickly find the data that they're looking for and to easily see the "story" or "meaning" behind the numbers

  • Participates in market compensation surveys, determines sales benchmark positions, develops tools and approaches to analyze survey results, develops market trend analysis and provides comprehensive internal and external equity reviews. Conducts job evaluations of new and revised sales positions and other positions. Conducts market survey and analyzes results to recommend and assign appropriate pay grade for evaluated position. Ensures compliance with FLSA classifications and other federal and state
