Position Description:

The purpose of this position is to accurately transfer product, both physically and logically, into and/or out of warehouse locations, load/unload trailers, move product throughout the facility with powered industrial equipment and perform inventory counts as required.

Job Summary :

The purpose of this position is to help locate in the receiving process Expedited flagged parts, Process through LTS(Logistics Tracking System) and Transcomm(transportation Movement database) and deliver to customer requested building using the fastest transportation method. Must have good customer service communication skills and able to locate parts requested throughout the inventory value stream. Must be able to track and report milestone movement times via status at a glance board. Read, interpret and verify quantity, part number, and deliver to code and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer. Able to recognize “obvious damage” at any point in the process and have knowledge of action taken when discovered. Aware of and follows location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures. Candidate must be able to work overtime and weekends when required.

Organizational Status :

This position reports to and is managed by a customer logistics supervisor, may receive training and guidance from a lead within the work group.

Work Performed (Essential duties in order of importance but not an exhaustive list):

  1. Performs the assigned tasks as described in the position’s standard operating procedures to include the physical handling of materials with the associated logical transactions. Requires the use of and certification on powered industrial equipment. 20%

  2. Performs LTS Scans and Transcomm entries to communicate location of parts and transportation movement status. Professionally communicates with customer status of request through multiple communication methods . 40%

  3. Transports and delivers parts via PIV or Golf cart using Safe standard practices to ensure parts are delivered with the desired Lead time. 30%

  4. Participates in workgroup and other team activities for the purpose of self-improvement and improving process operations and related business functions. 10%

Consequence of Error / Impact of Decisions :

Results of the position’s efforts are reviewed by production and exception reports on a regular basis as well as by supervisor’s observations. Errors could result in production stoppages or slowdowns, and customer dissatisfaction.

Supervision Received:

This position receives general supervision after receiving extensive training and direction associated with company policy and procedures and by the position’s written operating procedures, which remain as reference documents.

Supervision Given:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Working Conditions:

This position works within an air-conditioned, production facility within a production environment consisting of materials storage, movement by material handling equipment, and production personnel performing material transactions. There are fewer than (100) hazardous material items in the inventory of several thousand, and appropriate personal protective devices are provided as required.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • EDUCATION – High school diploma or equivalent.

  • EXPERIENCE – One year related warehouse experience (two years preferred).

  • SKILLS – Good communication skills in English, ability to lift at least 35 pounds unassisted and the capacity to transact system information in a productive manner.

  • CERTIFICATIONS or LICENSES – powered industrial trucks

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Minimum of one year of related warehouse and/or powered industrial lift experience required

  • Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and walk in high traffic areas

  • The ability to input data into various WMS computer systems

  • Work overtime as assigned

Responsibilities:

  • Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions

  • Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer

  • Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered

  • Pull orders accurately as assigned

  • Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location

  • Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process

  • Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures

  • Performs housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned

  • May operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
